RealmClicker
**Your torch is the timer.**
Realm Clicker is an **incremental** game about digging into monster-infested caves by torchlight.
Each descent lasts as long as your torch does. As it burns down, the light shrinks and the dark
creeps in. Sweep your pickaxe over whatever you can see, scoop up the loot, and grow the **Realm
Tree**. Then go back down with a longer wick.
You start with a tiny pickaxe and a short torch. A few dozen upgrades later, lightning arcs from
kill to kill, mushrooms explode in chain reactions, and your own little crew of Kin clears the dark
beside you.
### How to play
* **Hover** your pickaxe over monsters. It hits everything inside its ring automatically.
* Your **torch** is the run timer. When it goes out, you collect your loot.
* Spend Gold and realm materials in the **Realm Tree**: Longer Wick, Lamp Oil, a bigger reach and more.
* Fill a realm's boss meter to wake its **boss**. Beat it before your torch dies and you descend into the next realm.
### Monsters with habits
* **Slimes** split in two when they die.
* **Bats** flee from your pickaxe.
* **Golems** shrug off small hits.
* **Chests** are sometimes **mimics**. They bite chunks off your torch, but they always drop something.
### Oddities
Chests, mimics and bosses sometimes cough up something strange. There are 12 to find, including
*Grandpa's Spoon*, *A Very Loud Bell*, a *Moth in a Jar* and a *Cursed Coin*. Each one has an
upside and a downside. Your Satchel only holds three, so choose what you carry.
### Features
* **6 realms**: Verdant Fields, Ember Caves, Frost Peaks, Sunken Ruins, Shadow Keep and Celestial
Spire. Each has its own monsters, material, cave and boss.
* **A skill tree drawn as roots** on parchment, with "?" nodes waiting to be discovered.
* **Chain lightning, exploding Boomcaps**, and hired **Kin**: Squires, Archers, bomb-lobbing Sappers
and **Lantern Drones** that light up the dark.
* **The Forge:** spend gold and rare gems on 7 tools, from a Rusty Pickaxe to a Star Pick, each
with its own trade-offs, and upgrade them.
* **Elements and Crossroads:** set packs on fire, shatter frozen monsters, curse them into
shades that fight for you, and pick one of three game-changing keystones (free respec).
* **A collection book:** 30 oddities in 10 sets. Complete a set for a permanent bonus.
* **A late game full of spectacle:** falling stars, a second orbiting sun, tidal waves, supernovas
against bosses, and tamed mimics that rampage through the dark.
* **Hand-drawn pixel art** in one fixed palette (ENDESGA 32), with idle animations and a different
death for every creature.
* **No clicking marathon:** move your mouse and watch the numbers climb.
* **Saves automatically** in your browser.
### Controls
* **Mouse:** hover to attack.
* **Realm Tree:** click to buy, **Shift+click** to buy as many as you can afford, drag to pan,
and scroll to zoom.
* The fullscreen button (bottom right of the player) is recommended.

the changes do help a bit, but i think they were overcorrected a bit.
the fog/darkness is deliciously thematic, but painfully punishing (maybe tone it down a bit, and make it so about 50-100% of the range beyond vision, doesn't actually show what the unit is, just a "something is here" indicator? it can be upgraded...) also, if youve seen a unit, it remains revealed in the "generic unit" range, but gets lost if you move outside of that.
the loop can be
if(unit in visible range) then show unit
elseif(unit in generic data range) then
if(unit was revealed/remembered) then show unit
else then show generic indicator
else then
if(unit is remembered) then forget unit
Fun Game. My only comment would be to better balance the level-specific materials. In the last two levels, I was able to max out the skill tree items with the level-specific materials on the first run, whereas at the same time, I was struggling to get the materials from the first two levels even in the late game
